The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, a five overs, six a side tournament organized by Hong Kong Cricket Board with the gratitude of ICC. This is the shortest version among all cricket tournaments or leagues. The famous details of leagues and T20 tournaments are listed below.

It very unique as only six players are allowed in the side and maximum twelve teams had played this Six-a-side and five overs cricket competition that is why its known as HK Cricket Sixes. Mostly, the matches were held at the Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong.
Due to its unique nature, only all-rounders are suitable for this type of Cricket Contest. Every bowler is allowed to bowl only one over per match. Therefore, each player except the man in gloves is required to ball.
The Rules adopted in Sixes Cricket Tournament are mentioned below, except:
- Maximum Overs Per Innings: Five
- Max Players a Side: Six
- Final Match: Eight Balls per Over
- Max Overs Per Bowler: 1 Over
- Wides Ball: 2 Runs
- No-ball: 2 Runs
Cricket fans love to watch the moments of the ball flying out of the stadium. Therefore, to entertain the world of Cricket, a new cricket format was introduced by Hong Kong with the consonance of International Cricket Council in 1992. HK Cricket Sixes was held for the next six consecutive years and after that, it was staged in 2001 and onwards till 2017.

HK Cricket Sixes 1992
The inaugural HK Cricket Sixes edition was held at the Kowloon Cricket Club and Pakistan won the tournament after beating their arch-rival India by Four wickets in the finals. Wasim Akram was named as Man of the tournament due to his all-round performances.
HK Cricket Sixes 1993
In the second edition of HK Cricket Sixes, England defeated Sri Lanka and claimed trophy to its name for the first time. With the help of DERMOT REEVE fast blistering 31 not out innings, England chased down the target on the last ball with 3 wickets in hand. Therefore, DERMOT REEVE was named as Man of the Match, whereas, PHILLIP DeFREITAS was named as man of the series.
HK Cricket Sixes 1994
England Claimed its second successive International cricket sixes by beating Australia in the finals. Robin Smith was the Man of the Tournament for HK Cricket Sixes 1994 which was staged at the Kowloon Cricket Club.
HK Cricket Sixes 1995
In 1995 HK Cricket Sixes tournament, South Africa defeated the then two times champions and defending champion England in the Final. Crookes was named as Man of the tournament.
HK Cricket Sixes 1996
West Indies won the HK Cricket tournament by beating India in the finals with 8 runs. Ridley Jacobs was the Man of the Match due to his blistering performance against India in Sixes’96 final. Derek Crookes from South Africa was named as Man of the Tournament.
HK Cricket Sixes 1997, 2001, 2002
From 1997 to 2002, three editions of this five over cricket were held. Pakistan was the sole survivor in all these HK Cricket International tournaments. In 1997 and 2002, Pakistan defeated England in the finals whereas in 2001 they marked their win against South Africa. Zahoor Elahi, Wasim Akram, and Dene Hills were the Man of the tournaments for 1997, 2001, and 2002 editions of Hong Kong Cricket Sixes respectively.
HK Cricket Sixes 2003, 2004
England won the 2003 and 2004 tournaments after defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively. Saman Jayantha, from Sri Lanka, was the man of the tournament for HK 2003 due to his outclass performance with the bat. Whereas Hussain Butt, from Hong Kong, was the man of the tournament for the 2004 edition due to his outclass all-round performances.
HK Cricket Sixes 2005
The final match in the HK Cricket Sixes 2005 was played between India and West Indies. Indian Cricket team won the tournament by beating the West Indian team. Reetinder Sodhi from the Indian team was the man of the match and the man of the tournament due to his outstanding performance.
HK Cricket Sixes 2006
The HK Cricket Sixes 2006 was won by South Africans by defeating Pakistan Cricket Team in the final match. Although the performance of team Pakistan was outstanding, they lost the tournament. Imran Nazir from Pakistan team was awarded “man of the tournament” award. South Africans won the HK Cricket Sixes second time in 2006 after winning in 1995 against England.
HK Cricket Sixes 2007
In the HK Cricket Sixes 2007 series, the tournament won by Sri Lanka. The final match was played between All Stars and Sri Lanka. The man of the match was Craig McMillan from the New Zeeland due to his outstanding performance in the overall tournament. He was the leading scorer of the tournament.
HK Cricket Sixes 2008
England won the HK Cricket Sixes fifth time in 2008 by beating Australia in the final match.
HK Cricket Sixes 2009
The final match of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2009 tournament was played between Hong Kong and South Africa. South Africa won the tournament third time. Man of the tournament was Irfan Ahmed due to his outclass performance.
HK Cricket Sixes 2010
Australia won the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes first time in 2010. The final match was played between Pakistan and Australia. Pakistan lost the match and Australians became the champions of the HK Cricket Sixes 2010. The leading run scorer of the tournament was Ahmad Shehzad by scoring a total of 218 runs. While Glenn Maxwell from the Australian team was the man of the tournament.
HK Cricket Sixes 2011
Pakistan won the HK Cricket Sixes 2011 for the fifth time by beating England in the final match. Umar Akmal was the man of the tournament due to his extraordinary performance in the tournament. He was the leading run scorer of the tournament by scoring a total of 254 runs (the highest runs getter in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes).
HK Cricket Sixes 2012
The HK Cricket Sixes 2012 tournament was won by South Africa. The final match was played between Pakistan and South Africa. Umar Akmal from Pakistan was declared as the man of the tournament that year.
HK Cricket Sixes 2017
The final match of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2017 was again played between Pakistan and South Africa. South Africa won the tournament by beating Pakistan. Nizakat Khan from Hong Kong was nominated as the man of the tournament due to his highest runs in the overall tournament.
HK Cricket Sixes 2019
Hong Kong Cricket sixes 2019 edition will start in October 2019 after the ICC World Cup.
