CCIL statement on the iSixes World Series
The organisers
of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes have noted recent media reports
detailing the collapse of the proposed iSixes World Series together
with comments from the people behind that series that they are
instead hoping to set up a Twenty20 competition at various venues
in Asia, including Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes was not associated with the proposed
iSixes Series and continues to have the support of the Asian
Cricket Council and official sanctioning from the International
Cricket Council. The 2008 Hong Kong
Sixes tournament, to be held at the Kowloon Cricket Club on November
8 and 9, will be another huge success.

As regards
any proposed Twenty20 tournament in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong
Cricket Association & CCIL
have not been approached by the organisers of the proposed iSixes.
Any such tournament in Hong Kong would need to be held with the
agreement and close co-operation of CCIL which would welcome
any initiative to stage an event of this kind.
